LASIK, PRK, SMILE and ICL are not interchangeable procedures. The right choice depends on the prescription, corneal tomography, corneal thickness, ocular surface, pupil size, age, lens status, lifestyle and visual expectations.

PRK
Surface laser option where a flap is not suitable.
SMILE Pro
Small-incision lenticule-based vision correction.
ICL
Phakic IOL surgery, including higher refractive errors.

Dr Tushar Grover is a Cataract, Cornea and Refractive Surgeon and Medical Director of Vision Eye Centre, New Delhi. His clinical work spans advanced cataract surgery and premium IOLs, LASIK including Contoura Vision and WaveLight Plus (InnovEyes), PRK, SMILE Pro, phakic IOL surgery, keratoconus and corneal transplantation. Alongside clinical practice, he has an extensive academic role and has delivered more than 150 invited faculty lectures and academic presentations, conducted instructional courses and performed live and near-live surgery at major national and international ophthalmology meetings.
He has served as faculty, instructor, moderator and course leader at forums including ASCRS, APAO, AIOS, IIRSI, ISCKRS and DOS, and has received awards for his scientific work, surgical videos and academic contributions.
His training includes Aravind Eye Hospital and Narayana Nethralaya. Qualifications include MS (Ophthalmology), FICO (Cornea) and FAICO (Cornea & Refractive).
